Landon started veggies! His first was green beans because we knew it would probably be the grossest (is that even a word?) and we’ve been working our way down the list with sweet peas, carrots, squash and sweet potatoes. He pretty much makes a face with every new food but scarfs it down after that initial taste. Here’s a video documenting his very first taste of green beans. He really didn’t eat much of it that time but just kept spitting it out, so the next day I mixed it with formula and he took it fine and he likes them now. Of course fruits should be easy, except maybe prunes…..
Also, I got a cute clip of him laughing….at me….(fake) laughing at him. My fake laugh isn’t usually convincing enough to get him to laugh, Alan is way better at it, but it must have just struck him right that day.
Oh! I forgot to write about his 4 month checkup with the doctor. He now weighs 15.5 and is 50th percentile on everything which is good because he’s no longer a small fry but just your average sized infant. We got the okay to start putting sunscreen on him, which is SOO exciting because we are outdoorsy people and its been unbearable skipping outdoor activities (such as swimming) because little booger couldn’t be in the sun at all. Alsooooo, she says I should not have to feed him in the middle of the night, which I kind of knew but I felt like a bad Mama because he seems genuinely hungry, but I think he’s just on a schedule, so now its time to break that and get this kid to sleep through the night. Last night….not so good, he woke up at 3 am, 3:30 am and finally at 4:15 when he woke up again after I kept putting him back to sleep with a little pat on the back and a binki, I gave in and made him a teensy two oz bottle to get him through. HE STILL WOULDN’T GO BACK TO SLEEP….so I just said “good night” and let him jabber away in his crib until he put himself to sleep, he wasn’t screaming so he was okay, just not sleepy anymore…..sigh. A never ending battle I fear.
