Pumpkin Patch!

We took Landon to his first pumpkin patch on Saturday! The plan was to actually go on Friday when there wouldn’t be 875,000 people there getting all up in my photo op space, but Mother Nature decided to be a cold nasty PMSing biatch ALL DAY LOOONG….so…..we went on Saturday instead :) Eric, Anne and Maura came too.  We went to Thies Farm Pumpkin Land off of Earth City Expressway because it was highly recommended to me and it was a cool little pumpkin patch.  They had all these towers and slides and castle like structures made out of hay bales and of course the cutest little farm animals and tractor rides.

They had a bunch of those Radio Flyer wagons sitting around so we grabbed one and put Landon in it and HE-WAS-IN-LOVE! If you tried to take him out of it or stopped pulling it…OMG you would think the world was ending, we were eventually able to pull him out to show him animals and take pictures but he was not just going to let you take him from his new found love without a fight.

Landon and Maura were kind of indifferent to the whole pumpkin patch experience, I think I was more excited than they were to see all the pumpkins….the big fat ones are my favorite, by the way.

You aint goin' nowhere!

It was so funny. Okay, well, not really hilarious but funny in a cute way. They had those horsey tire swings and Alan puts Landon on and he just kind of grabs a couple of strands of the “mane” and lays back and chills out for the ride. He looked like he could sleep on the thing. It was cute.

We ended the trip with the tractor ride through the farming fields. Landon was as comfortable as can be, he let me hold him on my lap most of the way then wanted to sit right at the edge where he was tall enough to see over the side and just study the mud as we sloshed through it.  I had a death grip on his shirt the whole time but he was all “dude…I’m cool just let me be.” It was a cute little pumpkin patch and not as crowded as Rombach’s so we may go back again next year since the kids will be old enough to go through the mazes.
